Powerful online tool to help enterprises choose the most suitable cloud service provider

The Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) today launched the online version of its  Cloud Assessment Tool, a powerful new tool designed to help businesses choose the most suitable cloud provider.

The Cloud Assessment Tool (CAT) provides a standard framework that allows IT users to measure their requirements against vendor offerings.

Does Cloud need a big brother?

The term Big Brother evokes images of an omnipotent dictator who is constantly spying on the public – images not helped by the recent revelations about the NSA and its Prism programme. My opening question is quite the opposite: does the nascent cloud industry need the helping hand of government to ensure a healthy competitive industry?  Does it also need a catalyst in certain vertical sectors to make move to the cloud to make more efficient use of information technology?

  • Thailand: 1800MHz band reallocation approved in principle by telecoms committee +

    An auction of the returned spectrum Regulator NBTC approved a proposal to reallocate spectrum in the 1800 MHz band after the expiration of existing build-transfer-operate (BTO) concessions in Sep 2013 and the spectrum returned by the private operators. An auction of the returned spectrum was tentatively set for the third quarter of 2014. The regulator intended to package the reclaimed frequencies into 4G-suitable licenses. A Read More
